Adjustment layers

An adjustment layer applies its effects to everything on the tracks below it — one place to grade or stylise a whole section.

• Create one with the adjustment-layer button in the Project panel or Sequence ▸ Add Adjustment Layer. It goes on a free track above V1 at the playhead.
• Stretch it over the clips you want to affect and apply effects or Lumetri Color to it.
• Opacity blends the effect in; masks limit it to part of the frame.

Shortcuts show the Mac keys: on Windows and Linux use Ctrl for ⌘ and Alt for ⌥.
