Changing values

Drag a slider, type a number, or drag the property name left/right to scrub (hold Shift for ×10, Alt for fine steps). The circular arrow resets a property.

Keyframes (animation)

  1. Move the playhead to where the animation should start.
  2. Click the stopwatch next to Position, Scale, Rotation, Opacity or Volume.
  3. Move the playhead and change the value — a new keyframe is added automatically.

Use the ◀ ◆ ▶ buttons to jump between keyframes or add/remove one at the playhead. Keyframes show as small diamonds on the clip in the timeline. Click the stopwatch again to remove the animation and keep the current value.

Motion in the picture

Click a clip in the Program monitor and drag to move it, or drag a corner to scale. It snaps to the centre and frame edges; hold Shift to move freely.

Shortcuts show the Mac keys: on Windows and Linux use Ctrl for ⌘ and Alt for ⌥.
