Offline media and relinking

Projects store the location of each media file rather than copying it. If a file is moved, renamed or deleted, it shows as Offline (red badge in the Project panel, striped clips in the timeline).

To relink

1. Double-click the offline item in the Project panel (or right-click ▸ Relink Media…).
2. Choose the file's new location.

All clips using that file come back. If the new file is shorter than the original, Reelsmith warns you first.

Tip: keep a project's media in one folder next to the project file so it is easy to move together.

Shortcuts show the Mac keys: on Windows and Linux use Ctrl for ⌘ and Alt for ⌥.
