Multi-camera editing
Edit footage of the same event filmed from several cameras by switching between angles.
1. Create the multicam source sequence
- In the Project panel,
⌘-click 2 to 9 camera clips. The first one you select is Camera 1. - Click the multicam button (four squares) or right-click ▸ Create Multi-Camera Source Sequence….
- Choose Synchronize by: Audio (matches the sound waveforms) or In points (all start together).
- Keep Add to the current sequence ticked to place it at the playhead.
Camera 1's audio is used. Each angle's sound is on its own track inside the multicam sequence, with the others muted — open it to change which you hear.
2. Cut between cameras
- Press
1–9while playing: a cut is added at that moment and the new camera is used from there. - With playback stopped, a number key switches the camera of the clip under the playhead.
- Click Multi-Camera in the Program monitor (or
⇧0) to see all angles live; click an angle to cut to it. The active angle is outlined yellow (red while playing).
3. Refine
Each camera section is a normal clip: use the Rolling Edit tool to move cuts, right-click ▸ Switch to Camera, or pick the angle in Effect Controls ▸ Multi-Camera.
Shortcuts show the Mac keys: on Windows and Linux use Ctrl for ⌘ and Alt for ⌥.
