Splitting clips (razor and Add Edit)

Razor tool

Press C and click a clip where you want to cut it.

• A normal click cuts linked video and audio together.
• Alt-click cuts only the side you click.
• Shift-click cuts every unlocked track at that point.

Split at the playhead

• ⌘K splits the selected clips at the playhead (or all clips under the playhead if nothing is selected).
• ⇧⌘K splits every unlocked track at the playhead.

To split only the audio (or only the video) with ⌘K, Alt-click that side first so only it is selected.

Press V to return to the Selection tool.

Shortcuts show the Mac keys: on Windows and Linux use Ctrl for ⌘ and Alt for ⌥.
