Audio effects: EQ, compressor, noise removal

Find these in Effects ▸ Audio Effects and drag them onto an audio clip. Their controls appear in Effect Controls ▸ Audio; remove one with its chip.

  • Parametric EQ (3-band): Low (200 Hz), Mid (adjustable frequency) and High (4 kHz), ±18 dB. Cut lows to reduce boominess, lift highs for clarity.
  • Compressor: evens out loud and quiet parts. Threshold, Ratio and Make-up gain.
  • High-Pass (remove rumble): cuts traffic, wind and handling noise below the cut-off (80 Hz is a good start for voice).
  • DeHum: removes 50 Hz or 60 Hz electrical hum and its harmonics.
  • Noise Gate: silences the clip while it is quieter than the threshold — removes background hiss between words.

Effects are heard during playback and included in the export.

Shortcuts show the Mac keys: on Windows and Linux use Ctrl for ⌘ and Alt for ⌥.
