Titles

Create a title

• Press T (Type tool), click in the Program monitor where the text should be, and type. Press ⌘Enter or click outside to finish. An empty title is discarded.
• Or press ⌘T / click the T button in the Project panel to add a ready-made title at the playhead.

Titles go on the first free video track above V1, lasting 5 seconds.

Edit a title

• Double-click it in the Program monitor (or in the timeline) to edit the text in place.
• Effect Controls ▸ Text sets the font, size, bold, italic, alignment, fill color, stroke width and color, shadow and background box.
• Move it by dragging in the Program monitor; resize with the corner handles.

Animate a title

Use a transition such as Push or Cross Dissolve at its start/end, the Fade In/Out values in Opacity, or keyframes (see Effect Controls and keyframes).

Shortcuts show the Mac keys: on Windows and Linux use Ctrl for ⌘ and Alt for ⌥.
