Sequence settings and frame size
A sequence has a frame size, frame rate and background color. Open Sequence ▸ Sequence Settings… (or the gear in the top bar).
Automatic frame size
In a new sequence, the first video clip you add sets the frame size — a vertical phone video makes a 9:16 sequence, landscape makes 16:9. A message confirms the change, and ⌘Z undoes it. Turn this off with Match frame size to the first video clip in Sequence Settings.
Presets
HD 1080p, 4K UHD, HD 720p, Vertical 9:16, Square 1:1, Portrait 4:5 or Custom. Frame rates from 23.976 to 60 fps.
Shortcuts show the Mac keys: on Windows and Linux use Ctrl for ⌘ and Alt for ⌥.
