Detaching audio from video

Unlink

• Right-click the clip ▸ Unlink, or select it and press ⌘L.

The video and audio become independent: move, trim, split or delete either one alone. An unlinked clip shows a small yellow ⧉ mark.

Remove the sound, keep the picture

Unlink, click the audio clip, press Delete.

Work on one side without unlinking

• Alt-click selects only the side you click.
• Alt + Razor cuts only that side.
• Turn off Linked Selection (chain icon in the timeline toolbar) to make every click select only one side.

Link again

Select the video and audio clips and press ⌘L (or right-click ▸ Link).

Shortcuts show the Mac keys: on Windows and Linux use Ctrl for ⌘ and Alt for ⌥.
